Metastases
On the basis of 513 patients treated between December 1999 and December 2006:

  • Survival rate in 1 year: 50%
  • Survival rate in 2 years: 30% •    Survival rate in 5 years: 10%  
  • Treatment can be combined with a radiotherapy, surgery and/or chemotherapy treatment
  • Possibility of treating several metastases (up to 12) in one session
  • Possibility of carrying out several radiosurgery treatments for new metastases

Vestibular schwannomas (acoustic neurinomas)
On the basis of 300 patients treated between December 1999 and December 2007:

  • Tumour control rate: 96%
  • Preservation of hearing: 80%
  • Risk of facial paresis: 0%

 Meningiomas
On the basis of 528 patients treated between December 1999 and December 2006:

  • Tumour control rate: 94%
  • Possibility of Gamma Knife treatment:  
  • As an alternative to surgical treatment  
  • As a supplement to surgical treatment after partial exeresis  
  • In case of relapse after surgical exeresis

Pituitary adenomas
On the basis of 32 patients treated between December 1999 and December 2006:

  • Tumour control rate: 94%
  • Hormonal balance improvement rate: 69%
  • Hormonal balance normalisation rate: 15%

Arterioveinous malformations
On the basis of 124 patients treated between December 1999 and December 2006:

  • 30 patients with angiographic test 3 years after Gamma Knife
  • Obliteration rate: 96%  
  • Bleeding during interval between treatment and obliteration: 6%  
  • Complications: temporary: 10%  permanent: 3%

Trigeminal nerve neuralgia
On the basis of 228 patients treated between December 1999 and December 2006:

  • Significant improvement rate  (>90%) of neuralgic pain: 86%
  • Disappearance rate (100%) of neuralgic attacks: 73%
  • Relapse rate in 4 years: 10%
  • Risk of inducing a trigeminal dysfunction (hypoaesthesia/dysaesthesia): 34%
  • Other complications: 0%
